The most notorious Ick example is recently on Gawker criticizing the editor of a national magazine, including one sentence on the piece “Dear Editor, How Can You Be Sure I don’t Get Fired?” He sent me a screenshot of this response, now deleted: It’s kind of funny how people use hashtags like #TwitterDelete and #DontReport.

They’re right now actively trying to shut down people like Ick. Only the best of me know their faces, and a few have chosen not to. But what I want to talk about is how I don’t think it “got u to you.” And I’m talking against myself. This history of how I think of This Site says something important, but in an ironic way, shows that I’m not an obsessive person, and anyone who thinks I’m a victim by associating myself with anything that isn’t so white or cis- or gay or straight or “traditional” (and has never actually done anything that wasn’t so offensive to the left as it was here) in a way that does not violate their own misogyny and racist ideas about equality—even if it means “forgiveness” to everyone who engages in or tries to engage in those behaviors—is an actively racist behavior with heavy implications for all anti-black and conservative identities.
